2012 Home Renovations Show at the new CE Centre

The Home Renovations Show, the city’s first home show of 2012, will feature the latest in renovating, upgrading, and planning under one roof at a state-of-the-art consumer and trade show centre near Ottawa International Airport.

The show takes place on Jan. 20, 21 and 22 in the new CE Centre at 4899 Uplands Dr.

"Whether it's new windows, a flooring upgrade, a new kitchen and bathroom, or a full-scale renovation, you'll find everything you need at the Home Renovations Show,” says Ian Forsyth, Managing Partner for Caneast Shows, organizer of the show.

Home and condo owners will have the opportunity to meet kitchen and bath designers, professional renovators, and local building experts, while browsing hundreds of products and attending free home improvement seminars that will save them time and money.

New and exciting products to be showcased at the 11h annual show include digital showers with programmable settings for each user, flooring that insulates and soundproofs condominiums, and hidden desk beds that enable homeowners to make the best use of tight spaces.

"With the introduction of the new hidden desk bed, homeowners are being offered a unique storage solution,’’ says Dave Skinner, a spokesman for We Do Closets. ``The hidden desk bed is able to convert from a desk to a horizontal wall bed in minutes. All of this without adding or removing any furniture.”

Other unique products and services at the show include:

            ● electric heaters disguised as mirrors, ceiling panels or pieces of pop art to blend in with any interior.

            ● renovation companies that specialize in the complicated process of modernizing condominiums.

            ● state-of-the-art toilets with self-lifting seats.

            ● new 80-inch backlit LED televisions that are the largest residential flat panel TVs on the market.

            ● state-of-the-art home automation systems that use iPads, iPhones, iPod Touches and HDTVs to control audio video systems, lighting, motorized shades, home alarms, heating and air conditioning and swimming pools.

Among the highlights of the show is The Ultimate Garage, a "man-cave" with beautiful and functional storage and a few unexpected touches that will please everyone in the family.

Show goers will be explore the 20-foot by 10-foot garage to examine the beautiful garage door by Fendor with a power opener, dramatic finished floor with coordinating tool cabinets and storage racks to keep everything organized by Ottawa Garage Makeovers, the big-screen TV with surround sound from Signatures A/V Unlimited and the microbrewery beer tap from Broadhead Brewery.

A contest during the show will award a prize package worth in excess of $10,000 from Fendor, Ottawa Garage Makeovers, Broadhead Brewery and Signatures Audio that will transform an everyday garage into a functional and beautiful living space.

Homeowners will also have the opportunity to visit the National Kitchen & Bath Association ``Ask the Experts’’ booth where they can ask questions about kitchen and bath renovations and receive a free 15-minute consultation with an experienced designer.
