Caneast annual show

Exciting new products and services to be showcased at
the Annual Home Renovations Show at Lansdowne Park

Looking for the latest and greatest home renovation products and services?

If so, the Home Renovations Show at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa is the place to be on January 21, 22 and 23.

New and exciting products to be showcased at the 10th annual show will include fireplaces fuelled by ethanol, concrete countertops that create the look of granite and marble, and a garage floor/pool surround coating that withstands wear and tear caused by salt, gasoline and grease.

"When people are updating their kitchens, we can create the look of granite, marble, slate and travertine for a fraction of the price," says Zack Askew, owner of Granicrete Ottawa, which specializes in concrete overlay systems on countertops and flooring and has imported the innovative system to Ottawa from Arizona. "It is a revolutionary product that is affordable and elegant."

After sending its staff to the U.S. for training, Bruce Morton of Ottawa Garage Makeovers, recently unveiled a new specialty garage floor coating called poly-aspartic poly-eurea that prolongs the life of garage and basement floors, pool surrounds, decks, porches and steps.

"It’s a high tech, 20-year flooring product that's impervious to salt, gas, oil, grease, pretty much all chemicals and is even resistant to battery acid,’’ says Morton. "It's UV stable, won’t change colour, can be installed in a vast number of different colours and textures (including full anti-slip traction), can be installed in cold weather … and is almost zero VOC, so leaves behind no obnoxious lingering smell or off-gassing."

Other unique products and services at the show include:

          ● a system to restore badly damaged or collapsing homes without costly demolition and new construction.

         ● an energy-efficient and cost effective way to finish and insulate basements and other interior spaces.

         ● above-floor plumbing technology that permits the installation of additional bathrooms in condos and other tight spaces.
