We can't do this without you

Effective tomorrow, Saturday 13 August, due to financial constraints, True North Perspective is taking an enforced summer holiday during which we'll do our best to inspire readers to send pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and mucho-mucho loonies.

We operate at a severe financial deficit and have, from time to time, seriously considered abandoning our determination to bring you honest news and honest analysis of what's behind the news. However, we'll take a deep breath during the next three weeks and take one more proverbial kick at the can by resuming publication Friday 9 September.

We are dedicated to the success of True North Perspective because we believe that an accurately informed people are a free people. All of us at True North Perspective have ambitions aside from this project and would be immediately and happily otherwise occupied should we have to, albeit most reluctantly, bury True North Perspective.

We know we can't succeed in publishing True North Perspective without you. We desperately need your financial support to "Keep Carry On" as a great man once said.

Some may think that we're knee-jerk anti-American in our presentation. Nothing could be more misleading. There is much about America that we admire. However, we are vitally concerned about governments, throughout the world, telling its citizens, and acting on, lies.

What we object to in American policy is that it is based on lies and that millions suffer, and uncounted hundreds of thousands die, because of the Washington/Pentagon determination to consolidate and to expand a world empire in the interests of the American power elite.

(About  21.00 GMT on August 9, NATO aircraft committed a massacre of civilians in the Libyan village of Majer, near Zliten — 85 lost their lives, including 33 children, 32 women and 20 men. The total of Libyan civilian deaths — never mind the seriously and often mortally wounded — is now in the hundreds. A NATO commander justifies the attack on civilians as necessary to break the popular support for Gaddafi. Meanwhile the corporate media ignores more than a million demonstrating for Gaddafi.)

Even the American middle and working classes are obvious victims of this ambition of maladjusted adolescents.

The political-military-industrial complex that runs Washington operates at more than the obvious military level. Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent throughout the world to buy support that would satisfy its obsession for world domination.

We've seen a change of guard in such as Egypt but the same old oppression of the people. It was, and is, American money, that financed the so-called rebellion in Libya. And the same goes for Syria.

Tens of millions of American greenbacks are being spent in Venezuela to depose President Hugo Chavez under whose leadership the population has known more political freedom and economic benefit from its resources than ever before.

But those in power in Washington aren't in the slightest interested in democracy. What they want is power, unrestrained power, for themselves, and they'll tell any lie and commit any vile act to win their way.

And, to repeat, not even the American people benefit from this empire building. The greed of the power elite is wrecking the American economy. Millions out of work and losing even their homes.

To those of us who sincerely believe in democracy and majority rule, the cruel manipulation of politics and economics is disgusting and can only lead to the proverbial hell on earth.

Equally distasteful is the corporate media that make mockery of the best traditions of journalism by acting in the role of attack dogs for the power elite. The practitioners should hang their heads in shame, if they have any left.

So that's why we publish True North Perspective, to give our readers a window on the real world beyond the veil of disinformation spread by those who have contempt for our intelligence and for our belief in the spirit of the New Testament of the Holy Bible that calls for Peace On Earth and Good Will To All.

We'll be back Friday 9 September to resume publishing but we know that we can't do it without you. So please dig in and send us some financial lifeblood. Click the button below to visit our secure online payment option, or send a cheque or money order to us the old-fashioned way via,
