Venezuela is a democratic success story

Against a background of brutal rightwing military dictatorships in Latin America and ruthless attempts by Washington in spending hundreds of millions of dollars to foment disruption and failure, Venezuela remains firm in its pursuit of democracy.

Washington, not satisfied with its seven wars in the Middle East and Africa, is drumming its fingers impatiently on more of its stack of humanitarian bombs that it's itching to hurl at Venezuela and a number of other Latin American countries.

It does its best via its attack dogs in the corporate media to present Hugo Chavez as a power mad dictator. While 95 per cent of the Venezuelan media is privately owned Washington would have us believe that Chavez is a censoring force in the country.

Most of the media in the U.S., in the worst traditions of journalism, parrot the official disinformation (a polite word for false propaganda) that is soaked up by an uncritical population.

But those who read True North Perspective are well informed about the truth. In this issue we have a story about the Canada-based Foundation for Democratic Advancement that has found Venezuelan elections to be “exceptionally fair, and thereby highly democratic.”

(Please see Canada Foundation finds Venezuela beatsCanada and the U.S. for election fairness)

Hilary (The Bomber) Clinton is no doubt gritting her teeth at the news. No doubt the propaganda machine will be cranked to a higher pitch.

So keep your eye on True North Perspective and grow rich in the power of knowledge. Our only vested interest is in the truth.

Meanwhile, take it easy, but take it.

Looking forward
