French watchmaker circa 1790
made pieces now worth $750,000

Andre Breguet is considered the father of watches and his watches today fetch unbelievable prices ($750,000).

He gave a silver watch (1790) to Marie Antonette, the hated 'Austrian' Queen of France. It became known as the Ensemble  and the queen only wore it with a silver diamond necklace.

His watches were so advanced that the rest of the watch making fraternity didn't catch up to his quality for 130 years.

Andre Breguet had an interesting history and he loved his queen.

While she was waiting to visit Madame Guillotine she asked him to take a message to her brother Leopold of Austria.
