Thanks ‘Doctor Mike the Hammer’ — please don’t go away

Re: Monday, February 26, 2007 - Vol 2 No 36

Mike THE HAMMER Garvin is correct in assuming no car owner ever opens his/her car maintenance booklet never mind read it, These manuals might as well be written in Latin for most of us. For the same reason, these same people would never open or read a medical journal that in turn is all about our own body, which is also a machine.  That's why we depend so highly on 'Experts'.  We tend to call them 'Doctors'. We want to thank the powers that be that these 'Doctors' exist. Please don't go away!

BTW True North is a very 'info friendly' piece of work. Keep it going.

Rest assured that Mike Garvin and True North are in for the long haul. Look for Mike’s column to resume soon.  — Editor.

Excellent suggestions and questions — they all fit our Mission

Re: Tuesday, February 27, 2007 - Vol 2 No 37

Since you are regrouping may I give some suggestions?  First of all, I think the Editor's Notes should be open and not a click-on.  If you have it so you read it right away without having to retrieve it, it makes it more personal and enticing. Why not ask your readers what they would like to see and have a special every week, or month from requests.  The involvement of your readers will hold them and make them more committed subscribers. How about more pictures, possibly from readers, of special events, or points of interest. Also everyone likes a good joke, in good taste, and a cartoon. Culture could be a once a week or month item with a poem, news, or something of interest. Maybe some of these suggestions do not fit in with your "Mission" but I thought I would send them along. Especially since you said you wanted to make it more "fun" and I presume, not so dry. One more thing, I hope you don't mind me saying, the ending slogan "take it easy, but take it" is kind of worn, how about one of your own "bright" slogans of optimism in this world of such turmoil? All, in all, it is a promising project. Making it different to attract a stable readership is key, readers need something to "hold" them. I do hope one or two of these suggestions are useful.

As noted in the head, all your suggestions are useful. We’ll put them to work as fast as we can. The more feedback we have the better. Thanks. — Editor.
