Please accept our thanks to those who responded to our Reader’s Survey and to those who sent dollar donations while we were on our working holiday. We are much cheered by both.
We were especially impressed by the quality of all of the responses to our survey. One reader was pleased that True North is not politically driven. Some might take surprise at that because True North content is mostly political and economic. But the reader is astute. True North is free of promoting narrow causes. True North is driven by a sense of responsibility to provide readers with honest information on the premise that an informed people are a free people. Another reader asked that attention be paid to spiritual matters. We’ll do our very best to satisfy your suggestions on improving True North. We can’t, of course, do it all at once but rest assured that everything will be taken into account as we move from issue to issue.
The consensus of readers called for publishing three days a week instead of five. The days preferred by all, with one exception, were Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The one exception wanted us to publish Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I had been thinking that Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday might be the best three because readers would have more time for a Saturday look. But in this case majority rules so we will, effective today, be on your screen Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
One of the readers said he or she (the Reader’s Survey protected anonymity) could not afford to donate now but would do so in the future. That works for us. We’ll not deny True North to anyone.
We urge all readers to contribute to our subscription list — now counting in the hundreds — by spreading the word. We know True North is not for everyone. However, we are convinced that True North online will be welcomed by thousands. We just have to reach them. Word of mouth is a prime method of building our list of new readers.
For our veterans, we’ll continue to publish the Reader’s Survey for a few more issues. Don’t hesitate. Your opinions really count.
